After Week 1

So after week one, what can we say? It was a day filled with alot of energy, and had some bumps along the way. It started with the team that finished it last year. Raiders vs Chargers was the right game to start the new season. Chargers coming in as a new team with a mixture of veterans and great new talent. You can tell they were playing with some nervous energy. They came in trying to take advantage of a team coming in maybe a little too confident. But in true champion style, the defending champs proved to the league that they are not suffering that hangover most teams suffer after winning the big one. They are not like evryone else. That they are the best team to be the first to win back to back crowns. The Raiders looked very good sunday. They didn't miss a step. They looked as if they didn't take time off and continued to play even after the season ended. The Raiders were very impressive on both sides of the ball. Chargers started to get their defense together causing the Raiders to do what they do best, adapt and overcome. But the Raiders' defense didn't stop pressuring that Chargers offense. Chargers' offense couldn't find a rythm. That had alot to do with that dline never stopping. Raiders finished the game with a 28-7 score over their divisional rivals.
The second game was one of the best defensive games of the day. Falcons vs Saints was a game we all wanted to watch. Things didn't finish quite like the Falcons wanted to last year, but they are not dwelling on last year. Saints fell short of winning it all last year and made some adjustments during the off season to ensure that, this year would be different. It was a great defensive game. Both Falcons and Saints were bringing the pressure and making the opposing team change their gameplan in order to give themselves a chance to win. Falcons looked very hungry. They looked the most focused then they ever had in the past. The Falcons have some new faces and they look like they want to just kill their opponents. They have speed in every aspect of the game and it will take 3 weeks for them to rn at all cylinders... scary. The Saints were adapting as quickly as they could. This team is pretty good in making on the field adjustments, second only to the Raiders. At times you can tell that they haven't really had that much time together. But in true Saints fashion, they gave it everything they had. We aren't worried about this team. We know last year they started the same way and finished in the Superbowl. The Falcons took this one 21-7
The last game to finish of the day, was that between the 2 teams that have been doing this the longest. Last year was the first time that both teams didnt make it inot the Superbowl. They both came in trying to prove to everyone, and themselves that they still have it. This game was important to both teams. Add the fact the Browns have never lost an opening day game. Even with a bad season like the one they had in 2011, they seem to always bring it day 1. On this day, the Browns were a brand new team. They had a couple of very important pieces missing, but still looked like a very dangerous team. They started with a great defensive game and it looked as if the Eagles weren't going to be able find a way to stop them. The Browns took the lead when they scored first and everyone was looking to see if the Eagles were going to fold. The Eagles work hard during the off season trying to find talent and get everyone to work together. Sometimes those kind of tactics would burn out a team well before the season even starts. And thats what other teams were wondering when the Browns looked like they were having their way with the Eagles. But say what you will, the Eagles are hard headed and will give a you a fight til that last whistle. And in true Eagles form, they rode on the shoulders of their QB and RB, and made a game out of it. They took a 2 score lead and refused to let it go. The Eagles defense finished the game as if they got their second wind. And the Browns who tried to adjust during the game, just couldn't fast enough. The Eagles went home with a 35-21 win over the Browns.
