Playoff Bound

Today the league is gonna see 4 great teams, with outstanding players, and deep rooted rivalries, go at it. It's raining, cold, and kinda windy out....  Perfect weather for football.  So who does this weather help out?  Well,  the defending champs, The Steelers are a running team and have gone to the Superbowl on the quarter backs legs before.  The Raiders who have on a ring before are not your Raiders of past.  They have a mobile qb who finds holes to run through. 
The Cowboys have an opportunity to get back to the Superbowl again.  But first they have to finish off the Eagles, who have also won't the crown before.  Cowboys have beaten this team before to get to the big show.  And they beat the Eagles twice out of 3 meetings.  Leta see what happens today after the everything is said and done.  Good luck teams. Playoffs

AFC is cemented with the defending champs going against the Raiders, who have also taken honestly the ring, with the winner of this game having an opportunity to be only the second team in league history to win 2. The NFC just got finalized this past Sunday, as the Eagles are going up against the Cowboys with a shot to fight for the prize.  Cowboys have taken the Eagles out of the Superbowl contention before,  can they do it again?  These playoffs are going to be a must watch. Gotta love this thing of ours. 

Almost Time

So the AFC playoff picture is all but set.  Steelers vs Raiders to battle it out with a chance to got into the Superbowl.  Whoever goes in,  will have an opportunity to be only the second team in league history to win 2 rings.  The only other team to do this was the Mad Ink Browns.  This will be an interesting playoff game.  I for one, would not want to miss this. Love this thing of ours.

Here We Go

           So the season is about to officially start.  If you're a fan of this thing of ours,  you need to get to Ross Playground this upcoming Sunday.  August 17th marks the start of year 7 and yes we took a step back,  but we have also done a few things that should make this, one of the beat seasons ever.  We start the season with the champions Steelers vs The Broncos in a match up of the new vs the defending champs.  We like this match up because the Steelers have added a good handful of players this year and need to come together pretty quickly in order to give themselves the opportunity to do something that has never been done in this league before. They are trying to become the first team to win back to back crowns.  And the Broncos are trying to make a big statement in this league by starting the champs season with a loss.  If they can do that, the Broncos will be putting everyone in this league on notice. 
            The Second game is a must watch as well.  The Raiders vs the Eagles is going to be very interesting.  The Raiders have brought in some very tall players with outstanding speed and hands.  They also got themselves a true Q.B. with a cannon for an arm.  Those two added features with what they already have,  should be a problem with any team.  The Eagles seem to be the most balanced they have ever been.  With some big body players added to the speed they have always been known for,  this will be a very important game for them.  It will let them know if they finally have what it takes  to get to the big game. 
            Our last game is going to be the Cowboys vs the 49ers.  This is also you have to stay and watch.  The Cowboys made it to the Superbowl last year but fell a little short of bringing home the gold.  They added more offensive weapons and seem to have gotten faster.  With all the weapons they have it will be interesting to see if the 49ers have what it takes to bring them down a notch.  The 49ers have talent in almost every position.  They have energy for days and seem like they don't get tired. It will be a big notch on their belt if they can pull this off.

New Season

          So after all the off season done and over with.  We have our teams ready to play and provide excitement to the fans of this thing of ours.  In the AFC we have the defending champions coming back and stronger than last year.  They added a good number of last years Patriots team,  (who were favored to win it all), and this could be just what is needed to push the Steelers into that elite group status in this league. 
         The Raiders are back also.  They did keep the majority of last years team but have also added a bunch of game breakers to challenge the Steelers for the crown.  The Raiders looked great during their scrimmage game vs the Cowboys and it may take 3 weeks to finally get all on the same page,  but once they do,  they will be a very difficult team to stop.
           The AFC is tied up nicely with the new addition of the Broncos.  They have a few familiar faces and alot of New ones.  But the look very hungry and we'll coached.  They seem focused and as if they are aggressively seeking that gold.  We need to see a little more to figure out what type of team they are but for now,  they look to be a pretty running team with a mobile quarterback.
         The NFC is pretty strong as well. Cowboys added alot of offensive weapons and have changed up their defense to support that talent.  This team looks like they will be extremely fun to watch.  They have the potential to be a high scoring team, and that's what it might take for them to get to the big game once more.
           The Eagles look like they did alot of spring cleaning and cut a good handful of players.  They did however, keep the main group of guys and added alot of talented players.  Let's see how well they merge and if they finally figured out what is needed to get past the playoffs.  This team is the oldest and the team with the most amount of wins.  They just need to get to that next level and once they figure that out,  they are going to be a very difficult team to stop. 
            We have a new edition to the league and the NFC.  The 49ers look to be a very fast team.  Looks like they will be hard to figure out and that could be very dangerous.  They have the potential to pull off alot of explosive plays and become a team people will stay and watch.  We love that in this league. 
         Hope you guys are just as excited for this new season as we are.  We are kinda upset we had to step back to 6 teams after a successful season of 8 teams.  But it had to be done in order to get this season started.  We love this thing of ours and hope you guys do to.

The 2014 Season

So we lost two teams due to missing deadlines.  But the six teams we do have are very good and it looks like those two teams will be missing out on some good competition.  Steelers recruited nicely so did the Raiders.  And to finish the AFC we have the Broncos who have a talented squad with some members that are familiar with this thing of ours.  Cowboys added more offensive weapons for those teams that think they figured out how to stop them. Eagles have a talented pool of players but are also missing out on some key players.  NFC is topped off with the 49ers who are going to be a problem for those who sleep on them.  Banquet is this Sunday on the 27th and starts at 7pm.  VFW post in Dedham.  Hope to see you guys there.

Let us know hat you think. We are going to continue to push these out every month. We plan on having short player's bios; team match ups on games to watch. And team's history inthe league. We will also put in articles from players if they want to put something in. And if teams have sonsors we will also put it in the magazine but need some info on those sponsors so we can talk about what they offer, and hwat makes them so great. Your opinions are important so please feel fre to give us feedback.

Welcome to The League

We have a new team in the league. The Boston Panthers are coming in excited and ready to make an instant impact. Only 2 teams have ever been able to that. The Raiders and Steelers in their first year started kinda shaky but finished it by being the ones lifting the trophy at the end of it all. We are looking forward to see what these guys can bring to the table, and how well they will be able to adapt to what is already here. From what we understand so far, and its still early, they may have people on their roster that have already played in this thing of ours. Welcome and good luck.
