It's Almost Time

So the banquet is about a week away.  We seen the list for awards and the number of votes that were put in....  let's just say we wish people took this a little more seriously.  The players getting awards are good and deserving of some recognition. But we do think some players were left out. Could be because owners we're asked to give thirty opinions in June and failed to do so.  Could be because back in April only 3 players put in their votes.  Back regardless...  these players are good and should feel honored that they were chosen. Now lets see how many people complain and how many players raise their game up just a little. See ya at the banquet.

2013 Season

So the 2013 Season is just around the corner.  This season seems like it's gonna be the best one ever.  We have 8 great teams with a bunch of talented players.  Games are now an hour and a half and promises to be fast action and surprise finishes.  There are a few teams we are keeping a close eye on.  First it's the defending champs Falcons.  We want to see if they still have the hunger they brought into the league last year.  Last season they had a fire that proved to be too much for the other teams.  Falcons finished the season becoming champs and are bringing back almost the entire team. Will they have the fight still in them?  Or are they satisfied being a one time champ?
The Patriots are put together by a few players from last season's champs. They know what it takes to be competitive in this league and have the talent to be a true contender for the crown.  We really can't wait to see this team in action.
The last team we are keeping an eye on is one of the oldest teams in this league. The Mad Ink Browns.  These guys seemed to haven't found the qb piece they were missing and already have pieces in place to take the top spot from everyone in the AFC.  These guys have more heart and now have a voice on the field to guide these guys into the endzone. Let's see if a leader will rise and take this 2 ring wearing team back into the big show.

Who's next

Owner's Meeting Recap

So there was an owner's meeting yesterday. And from we understand, it was the best owners meeting yet. Owners talked to each other and discussed issues from last year and also came up with a way to fix those issues in a very fair and impartial way. Schedules were discussed, they went over any changes to the rules and they also talked being committed to taking more ownership of the people they bring into this thing of ours.
When it came to rules, their weren't any real changes done to them. The focus is going to be more on the Refs doing a better job of enforcing the ones we have already. Owners talked about holding the Refs accountable to poor performance and just like teams get fined, the Refs get fined as well. If they are obviously calling the game in favor of one particular team, they forfeit pay and may be replaced. But this also means that no one can disrespect a Ref. And only owners and Team Captains can speak to a Ref to discuss a missed call a or to get a better understanding of the penalty called. Once the call is explained then that's it. Play must resume.
Owners also talked about players being ejected. And sportsmanship being a very important piece to bring back into this thing of ours. Basically the way it works is that if a player is trying to get into it with other players and is going around trying to talking and just conducting himself in a manner to disrupt our games, then owners will get together to discuss what should happen to that one player. They will talk to the commissioner and have him talk to that player's team owner. If the issue persist then the owners will get together to determine if that player should be suspended or even thrown out of the League. This is done to maintain the integrity of the league and keep everything as fair as possible. The outcome is based on a majority vote and in case of a tie the commissioner will be the deciding vote.
Games are going to be an hour and half long. This is done to be able to fit all games in time allotted. This also means that games will start on time and once the field is set up the teams only have 15 minutes to take the field and start the games. If for any reason a team cannot get their teams ready on time, then it will cause them to forfeit and fine will follow. Again this is to keep these games moving along. Time will not be pushed forward to take up any more time unless it goes into overtime. There is no ties in this league.
There is a Wild Card now. This is very exciting and we think this will make the League more competitive. You will have the 2 teams with the best record earn a bye week. second and third seed teams will battle to earn the right to compete against the best to advance to the big game. This a first for the league and we all seen what a playoff game did to give teams a better shot of becoming champs. We are very excited to see what this brings and to see which teams take advantage of this.
Owners were also asked to make final payment for their teams by the 7th of July 2013. Rosters must finished and handed in at that time if they haven't already. As far as we know the Raiders and Eagles are the only ones that turned in a full roster. Owners are suppose to give the league their votes for "Offensive Player of The year." "Defensive Player of The year." "Rookie of The year." "Most Improved Player." "and "Impact Player."
We think we covered everything that was discussed at the Owner's Meeting and we hope we did a good job explaining them.

                                                                                  Thanks For The Support,
                                                                                   This Thing Of Ours
